1 Nov 2011—Plant Donation to Loudoun Water, Ashburn, VA
In October 2011, South Riding Nurseries delivered an assortment chokeberry shrubs and small trees to Loudoun Water to be planted in their annual Family Stream Day event held 15 October 2011. Some photographs and a note of thanks from Loudoun Water are below.
Dear South Riding Nurseries:
Thank you so much for the chokeberries and trees. Our Family Stream Day/planting event was really successful. My coworker said a couple of the attendees had never planted a tree before. Hopefully they’ll now have an interest in planting something in their own yard. I attached a couple photos showing the planting in action. The entire Family Stream Day photo gallery is online at http://www.flickr.com/photos/68834370@N07/sets/72157627932007130/.
I have a handful of the recycled material stream day tote bags and color changing water bottles (ooooo they turn blue) as a little token of thanks. I'll have someone drop them off next time they're over there.
Thanks again, Liza Young Loudoun Water
13 May 2011—Donation to Little River Elementary School, South Riding, VA
On 13 May 2011, South Riding Nurseries delivered a donation of over 20 yards of mulch and wood chips to a local elementary school for use in refreshing the school grounds. Before and after photos and a few words of appreciation from the school's PTA are below.
Dear South Riding Nurseries:
Please accept our sincere thanks for your generous donation of 10 yards of hardwood shredded mulch and 12 yards of wood chips delivered to support our cleanup of our school yard habitat. The Little River Elementary has a beautiful schoolyard habitat with local flora, fauna, and wildlife. The habitat is for the enjoyment of the Little River students, families and the entire community. Each Spring, an amazing crew of parents, students, girl scouts, cub scouts and LRE staff tranform our school's habitat, landscape beds and front entryway. Please review the attached before and after pictures of our habitat cleanup.
We greatly appreciate and admire your continued support of our habitat cleanup over the past three years. Thank you again for your generosity to Little River Elementary.
Sincerely, Little River Elementary PTA
